Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program (EID)

The Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program extends Medical Assistance health benefits to working Marylanders with disabilities. This program allows individuals to return to work and maintain health benefits for a minimal fee. 

​The EID Program, administered by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), provides Medical Assistance (also called Medicaid) to working Marylanders with disabilities who meet a few conditions.  Medical Assistance:

  • Covers most medical services for individuals who have no other health insurance
  • Saves individuals with Medicare $1,000 - $12,000 a year
  • Supplements private insurance, paying for some services that the other insurance does not cover​
